Tournament Rules
Welcome to Powerplay League! To ensure a fair and exciting competition, please review and adhere to the following tournament rules:
1. Eligibility
- Age Limitation: Participants must be between 18 and 35 years old to compete in the tournament. Proof of age may be required at the time of registration or trials.
- Registration: All players must complete the registration process and pay the non-refundable registration fee to be eligible for participation.
2. Team Composition
- Team Size: Each team will consist of 15-20 players, including a captain and vice-captain.
- Player Draft: Players will be drafted into teams based on their performance in the trials.
3. Tournament Format
- Group Stage: Teams will compete in a round-robin format during the group stage, playing against each other to determine standings.
- Knockout Stage: The top teams from the group stage will advance to the knockout stage, culminating in the semi-finals and grand final.
4. Match Rules
- Match Duration: Each match will consist of T20 format, with the duration set according to the tournament guidelines.
- Conduct: Players must display sportsmanship and adhere to the code of conduct. Disciplinary action may be taken for unsportsmanlike behavior, including warnings, fines, or disqualification.
5. Player Conduct
- Fair Play: All players are expected to compete fairly and respect the umpires’ decisions.
- Behavior: Abusive language, aggressive conduct, or any form of misconduct will not be tolerated and may result in penalties or disqualification.
6. Equipment
- Gear: Players must use their own cricket gear, including bats, pads, gloves, and protective equipment. Team uniforms will be provided by Powerplay League and must be worn during matches.
- Approval: All equipment must conform to standard cricket regulations and be approved by the tournament officials.
7. Substitutions and Injuries
- Substitutions: Substitutions are allowed only in cases of injury, with prior approval from the match referee. The replacement must be a registered player.
- Injury Management: In case of an injury, players should seek medical attention immediately. The tournament organizers are not responsible for any injuries sustained during the tournament.
8. Umpires and Officials
- Decisions: Umpires and match officials will make all decisions regarding the rules and conduct of the game. Their decisions are final.
- Disputes: Any disputes or concerns regarding match decisions should be addressed through the designated channels, and not during the match.
9. Prize Money and Awards
- Distribution: Prize money and awards will be distributed at the conclusion of the tournament, following the grand final.
- Eligibility: Only registered and participating players are eligible for awards and prize money.
10. Changes to Rules
- Modifications: Powerplay League reserves the right to amend or update the tournament rules as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to participants and reflected on the tournament website.
